Adventure Travel

"I have found adventure in flying, in world travel, in business, and even close at hand... Adventure is a state of mind and spirit."
- Jacqueline Cochran

What is Adventure Travel? When this sub-group of travel comes up, a lot of crazy stuff might pop to your head. Jumping off airplanes, free diving, bungee jumping, cycling across Africa, rowing across the Atlantic, you name it. And whilst there is nothing wrong with any of these – in fact, many of these are on our bucket list – adventure travel doesn’t have to be “crazy”.

To us, adventure travel is a mindset. It’s the act of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.

Even travel in its purest sense is “adventure travel”. It’s not always glamorous, easy, and sometimes even risky. It’s about celebrating each moment as it comes and trying new things. Push yourself. It could be anything from going for that day long hike, wild camping somewhere remote, or visiting an off-the-beaten path destination. There is no activity too small or too safe.

We have never been the most adventurous of travellers, or adrenaline junkies by any definition of that phrase, but we do enjoy getting out of our comfort zones. Climb a volcano in Indonesia? Sail the West Coast of Scotland on an ocean-racing clipper boat? There is always something to be inspired by out there!
